Thanksgiving and Prayers Part 3
It has been a while since I last updated my blog. Sorry about that. I have been having trouble with it allowing me to post photos. So, make sure you check out all 3 Thanksgiving and Prayers blog posts. You will see a mix of children who God has brought to the Baby Centre and others who God has brought families to adopt them. Please continue praying for these precious children as they adjust, either to the Baby Centre or as they become part of a family. Thanks. |
This little guy is named Luke. He and his twin sister are both three years old. His sister is pictured below. |
Meet Naomi |
This little one is named Lydia. She is about 7 months old. Her sister is pictured below. |
This sweet smiling girl is named Phyllis. She is about 7 years old. |
Copied from the Baby Centre Facebook page: We had posted some time ago that Miriam Nancy had been adopted to a new mommy. In her best interest we decided not to post anything about her return. There were difficulties with Miriam’s first adoption, so she came back to join us at the Baby Centre. But, wonderful news, she was adopted by a mommy and daddy just the other day. We are so happy for her. And her new mommy and daddy were just overjoyed to have a new daughter that they had been waiting and praying for. |
Thanksgiving and Prayers Part 2

Pray for Joshua George
I copied and pasted this from Dan and Dana's blog http://www.dananddanainkenya.BlogSpot.com
Dear Baby Centre Friends,
As a normal practice here at the Baby Centre, we do not intentionally take children with special needs because we are not equipped for that. However, from time to time, God blesses us with a child that needs some very special care. Our Joshua George is one of these children. He has been here with us at the Baby Centre for more than a year now waiting for the right time to act on his behalf. He is a wonderful young boy, now 3 years and two months old that was abandoned in the Nakuru area. Joshua has a Club foot on his left side and on his right side, his leg below the knee never formed. On the 15th of this September, we will be taking Joshua to Kijabe Hospital and the Surgeons from CURE International will perform a procedure to fix the club foot, and we will amputate the right leg at the knee. Joshua will then be fit with a prosthetic after 12 weeks of healing. He will return here to the Baby Centre to recover and then to start the process of rehabilitation and learning to walk.
Please pray for Joshua as we prepare him for this difficult journey. Pray for the medical team at Kijabe. Pray for our team here at the Baby Centre as we prepare to receive him back here after approximately a week in the hospital.
We thank God for the donors that have already contributed for the cost of the surgery. We have enough funds for the surgery. We do need additional funds to pay for the post-op care and his rehab. He will require his own caregiver for 12 weeks.
If you would like to help, or have any questions concerning Joshua, please contact me at director@agcbabycenter.org.
This has been a very difficult decision, and we believe that this is in the very best interest of Joshua. Thank you for your prayers, thank you for your support.
Blessings,
D&D

Home
Over the last two weeks six children have gone home with their forever families! Praising God for these families that have been formed. Will you please pray for each one of them as they continue bonding as a family, and also remember those children who are waiting for their forever families? Thank you for being faithful to pray for these precious children.

Families Being Formed and Goodbyes
Less than two weeks...it is all I have left here at the Baby Centre. I think I was in denial until this weekend that it was coming so quickly. I started packing on Saturday and the church I attend said goodbye to me on Sunday.
I am excited to return to the U.S. and spend time with my family and friends and to share about the time God has allowed me to be a part of the ministry of the Baby Centre. At the same time it makes me sad to think of having to say goodbye, for now, to those who have become my friends and family here. Even though I know I will be returning, it is still hard to leave. Please pray for me as I pack my things up and have to say my goodbyes.
As I return if you would like to get together, or if you have somewhere you would like me to share about the ministry of the Baby Centre, just let me know. I would love to see as many of you as possible while I am there.
As I come to my other home, please forgive me if I do things that do not seem to make sense to you. Some examples might include...
1. Saying words you do not understand. I had this problem after only a short time here, a few years ago. After I went back to school I told one of my students to kuja (meaning come) and they just stared at me like I was nuts, at first. Once I told the kids what it meant, my whole class used it for the rest of the year. Some other examples of words I may say without thinking: pole (sorry), asante (thank you), sawa (sort of like saying it's okay), hodi (sort of a way to make yourself known when knocking on someone's door before you enter). I am sure there will be others. Don't be afraid to tell me you need a translation. :)
2. If you go to the grocery store with me. I may feel the need to stock up on my favorite items, and when I stock up I mean you would wonder why in the world I was buying 6 of the same thing. Sometimes here you have to stock up on what you like because you never know when they will run
out of it and may not have it again for months.
3. If I am the driver and I go to get in the passenger side of the car, or if I am the passenger and I try to get in on the driver's side.
These are just a few things that you may notice, but I am sure there will be others.
I am also excited that it is so busy here these days. Just this week we have had three kids who have become a part of a forever family. Praise God for moving in the hearts of people to take one of these precious children as their own.
